Demystifying the world of finance and financial planning for the average person. Most financial scholars have the tendency to "talk over" the heads of common folks, which leads to misunderstandings, unrealistic expectations and fear. Henderson is known for teaching with meaning and not just words. By making use of parables and painting pictures, Henderson assists clients in gaining conceptual understanding by bringing life and meanings to financial terms.
ROB,
ReplyDeleteONCE AGAIN, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT THOUGHT. I THINK THE PROBLEM
WITH OUR ATHLETES IS WHEN IT COMES TO ACTUALLY DOING
BUSINESS, A LOT OF THEM DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN LET ALONE
WHO TO TRUST. ALSO FROM HAVING PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH
MANY ATHLETES AND ENTERTAINERS ALIKE, MAJORITY ACT AS IF THE
MONEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE AND THEY NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE
POSSIBILITY OF IT RUNNING OUT. GETTING BACK TO THE POINT OF
ACTUALLY DOING BUSINESS, MOST FEEL THAT PLAYING THEIR
RESPECTIVE SPORT IS THEIR BUSINESS AND ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF
THAT IS NOT AN OPTION. BUT WE KNOW ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE AND
WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT OUR YOUNG BROTHERS AND
SISTERS WILL BEGIN TO TAKE ADVICE FROM SOMEONE LIKE YOURSELF.
V.O.R

ReplyDeleteI was listening to a talk radio show the other day and one sports writer reported that close to 60% of NBA players file for bankruptcy within 5 years of retiring. Antoine Walker, who player for the Miami Heat a few years back, made over 100 million dollars during his NBA career...is now broke. The sport writer also talked about how owner of pro teams normally own car dealerships, restaurants, clothing stores, and night clubs in the same city that they own the team in…the main reason for this is that their best customers are their employees…the pro athletes…sad, but true…
Rob your dead on again…as a people we have to learn how to make money work for us, like owners do. Until we make financial literacy a priority, we will continue to lose…even when it looks like we’re winning…as is the cause with many black pro athletes
